1. Introduction

Welcome to AekTube ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand exactly how your data is handled when you use our web application. AekTube is designed to be a minimalist, distraction-free YouTube viewer, and our data practices reflect that minimalism: we only access what is strictly necessary to make the app work, and we do not store or sell your personal YouTube data.

2. Information We Collect

When you log in to and use AekTube, we access the following information via Google's secure OAuth 2.0 authentication:

Basic Profile Information: Your Google email address, name, and profile picture. This is used solely to create your session and identify you within the app.

YouTube Data (Read-Only): We request the youtube.readonly scope. This allows AekTube to fetch your YouTube subscription feed, video titles, channel names, and video IDs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following limited purposes:

• To authenticate you securely using your Google account.
• To fetch and display exactly one video at a time from your YouTube feed.
• To allow you to navigate through your feed sequentially or randomly using our interface.

4. Data Storage and Retention

AekTube does not maintain a database of your YouTube feed, viewing history, or subscriptions.

Your YouTube feed data is fetched directly from the YouTube API to your active session and is kept only temporarily in memory while you are using the app.

Once you close the app or log out, this fetched feed data is discarded.

We do not collect analytics on which specific videos you watch.

5. Google API Services User Data Policy

AekTube's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Third-Party Services (YouTube API)

AekTube relies on YouTube API Services to function. By using AekTube, you acknowledge and agree that your data is also subject to Google's privacy practices.

We do not share or sell your data to any third-party advertisers or data brokers.

7. Your Controls and Revoking Access

You have full control over AekTube's access to your Google and YouTube account. You can revoke our application's access to your data at any time.

To disconnect AekTube and revoke API access, visit your Google Account Security Settings page here: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

Upon revoking access, AekTube will immediately lose the ability to fetch your YouTube feed.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your basic profile information and session tokens. Because AekTube uses OAuth 2.0, we never see, collect, or store your Google password. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

AekTube does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for AekTube or send any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
