Terms of Service for AekTube

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AekTube ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use AekTube.

Because AekTube integrates with YouTube to provide its core functionality, by using our App, you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

2. Description of Service

AekTube is a minimalist web application designed to help users focus by displaying one video at a time from their authenticated YouTube feed. We do not host, store, or distribute video content; all video playback is provided directly by YouTube via embedded players.

3. YouTube API Services and Data Usage

AekTube uses YouTube API Services to fetch and display your personalized video feed. By authenticating your Google/YouTube account with AekTube, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Google Privacy Policy: Your use of AekTube is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy, which can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Data Access: AekTube requests "Read-Only" access to your YouTube account (youtube.readonly scope) strictly to fetch your subscription feed and video metadata.

No Data Sale or Storage: We do not sell your personal data or YouTube feed data to third parties. We do not store your video feed on our servers; it is fetched temporarily to provide the AekTube viewing experience.

Revoking Access: You can revoke AekTube's access to your YouTube account at any time via your Google Security Settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

4. User Authentication and Accounts

AekTube uses Google's secure OAuth 2.0 authentication.

We never see, collect, or store your Google password.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to AekTube at our discretion, particularly if we detect abuse of the API that could jeopardize our developer standing with Google.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use AekTube to:

  • Bypass, modify, or interfere with the YouTube embedded player (e.g., attempting to block YouTube ads, which violates YouTube's API terms).
  • Reverse-engineer the application or attempt to extract the underlying YouTube API keys.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access AekTube or the YouTube API through our service.
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws.

6. Intellectual Property

All videos, thumbnails, channel names, and related metadata displayed in AekTube are the property of their respective creators and YouTube. AekTube claims no ownership over any YouTube content. The AekTube name, branding, and custom interface code are the property of MogaWeb.ca.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

AekTube is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee that the App will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Because we rely on the YouTube API, our service may be disrupted if YouTube changes its API, goes offline, or revokes our developer access. We expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AekTube and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the App.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Service.
